Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Effective date: July 6, 2026

Okee Technologies, Inc. (“Okee,” “we,” “us”) operates the Okee marketplace, which connects homeowners with independent home-service contractors. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Okee website (getokee.com), the Okee web app (app.getokee.com), and any successor Okee mobile applications.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

Homeowners. When you create a homeowner account we collect your name, email address, and phone number. When you submit a job request we collect the service address, a description of the work needed, and photos or notes you attach. When you authorize payment we collect a payment method through our payment processor (see Section 3).

Contractors. In addition to the categories above, contractors provide business information (legal entity name, DBA, business address, EIN or tax ID, service categories, service area), government-issued photo ID, occupational license documents where the trade requires licensure in Texas, and certificates of general liability insurance (and, where applicable, workers’ compensation). These documents are used to verify eligibility to appear on Okee. Contractors may also add team members, who provide their own name, email, and phone number.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Precise location (contractors only). While a contractor is actively marked available or is en route to a confirmed job, Okee collects the device’s precise geolocation. Availability location is used to match nearby jobs; en-route location is streamed to the homeowner so they can see the contractor’s arrival in real time. Contractors can stop location sharing by going offline or ending the job.

Homeowner service address. We collect the address you enter for the job, plus its map coordinates (used for dispatch matching). We do not collect the homeowner’s precise real-time device location.

Device and usage data. We collect standard log information (IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, referring URL, actions taken in the app) to operate and secure the service. We use first-party cookies or equivalent local storage to keep you signed in.

1.3 SMS/text messages

With your consent, Okee sends service professionals (contractors) SMS job alerts, job assignments, schedule and cancellation changes, and account status notices (the “Okee Pro Alerts” program). Homeowners receive one-time verification codes they request and an arrival notification by SMS; all other homeowner notifications are in-app only. Contractors opt in inside the app, and the exact wording you agree to is recorded; consent is not a condition of using Okee. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe or HELP for help. We also use SMS for one-time passcodes at sign-in.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

3. Service providers we share with

We share personal information with third-party service providers strictly to deliver the service. Each of the providers below is bound by a contract that limits their use of the information to the purposes we specify.

We also share information between homeowner and contractor as needed to complete the job (e.g., the homeowner’s service address is shared with the matched contractor once a job is confirmed).

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies.

No mobile information or phone numbers collected for SMS will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

4. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. When you close an account, we retain records associated with completed jobs (bookings, payments, dispute history, and required tax records) for the period required by law and by our payment processor, typically seven years. Contractor verification documents (ID, license, insurance) are retained while you have an active contractor account and for up to two years after deactivation. Message metadata for SMS we send (recipient, timestamp, delivery status) is retained for support, deliverability, and legal compliance. Backups and archival copies are purged on a rolling schedule.

5. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for stored files, row-level access controls at the database, hardened authentication with rate limiting, and secret rotation. Access to production systems is restricted to Okee personnel who need it, and audit logs are maintained. No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

6. Your rights and choices

You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@getokee.com from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days. Note that certain records (payment history, verification documents, job records tied to another user’s legitimate interest) may be retained as required by law or by our service providers even after account deletion.

You can turn off push notifications in your device settings, and disable marketing email through the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email we send (transactional email cannot be disabled while your account is active). You can stop all SMS from Okee by replying STOP to any Okee message. We will send one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages. Reply START to resume.

7. Children

Okee is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@getokee.com and we will delete it.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

Okee Technologies, Inc. is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Texas. The service is intended for users located in the United States. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Users located outside the United States should not use Okee.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide additional notice by email or in-app. Continued use of Okee after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
